On Saturday, February 4, 2012, Suite101 spoke with country singer-songwriter David St. Romain about his latest single "Some Things," which will be on his upcoming CD, that is slated to be released via his indie record label, DSR Entertainment.
It was co-written by Kristi Manna, as well as Danny Myrick and Bridgette Tatum, both of which co-penned the Jason Aldean chart-topping Billboard hit "She's Country."
David St. Romain Talks "Some Things"
According to David, he remarks, "It was a song that we recorded originally for the All I Really Wanted to Say album, but it did not make it in. We decided last year that we wanted to do another project, so I had this track sitting here and it was finished. I did not write this single, but Bridgette [Tatum] who did, is a really good friend of mine, and she is very much a bluesy singer. It's really cool to be able to bring in that New Orleans vibe into this tune. The theme of the song is the idea of being willing to say whatever you want to say, and not being scared to speak your mind. It has a political theme to it."
"'Some Things' is out on radio already, but the 'add' date is on Monday, February, 6, 2012. We have been shooting a music video for the song this last week, and we are getting ready to get that out. My dad will also make a cameo in the video. It should be wrapped up within the next few weeks," he shares.
David reveals that Reese Wynans from Double Trouble is playing piano on the track. "Reese is really a blues player, and he definitely gave it to me exactly how I wanted it!" David exclaims.
David St. Romain Discusses his Future Plans
"In the near future, I am going to Country Radio Seminar (CRS), which is this month, and I will do a couple of shows there," he says. "In the first week of March, I will be doing a few concerts with Cowboy Troy at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville, as well as Randy Owen's golf tournament and I am doing a show with John Rich for Jeffrey Steele's fundraiser."
