Background on the Adam Craig Band
The Adam Craig Band, which was formed in 2006, consists of lead singer-guitarist Adam Craig, bassist Jimi Hendrix (not to be confused with the blues-rock legend), who also sings harmony, as well as Brian Smith on drums, and lastly, Ryan Jones, who is Adam Craig's cousin, and who provides guitar, keyboards and background vocals.
According to the Adam Craig Band's official website, the band has served as opening acts for established country artists Sara Evans, LeAnn Rimes, Blake Shelton, Eric Church and Little Big Town. Moreover, the band has opened for acts outside the country music genre, such as legendary rock bands REO Speedwagon and Foreigner.
Noteworthy Songs on the Adam Craig Band EP
Particularly impressive about the EP is that all six songs were co-written by lead vocalist Adam Craig, showcasing his songwriting prowess. It opens with the up-tempo "Nothin' Wrong," which is their latest single on country radio. Following "Nothin' Wrong," is the ultra-catchy "I Fell for Memphis".
The highlight of the EP is "Waitin' on Me", an emotional ballad with stunning vocals which ought to be released as a future single. This song describes a character taking moral inventory of himself. In the song's lyrics, the obstinate narrator reveals that he's finding out "how it feels to be waitin' on me."
"Tail Lights" is yet another fine example of how well the band's mellifluous harmonies blend together.
The Verdict
From start to finish, the Adam Craig Band EP is a great collection of well-written and well-sung country songs. All of the six songs on this EP are versatile and, depending on the day, the listener is bound to declare a different song as their favorite. It's recommended for anybody interested in hearing quality country music, with catchy lyrics and addictive harmonies, from one of Nashville's most promising new country bands.
