Markos Papadatos
Markos Papadatos is a Greek-American journalist and educator. For the past six years, Markos has played a vital role in the success of his college's official newspaper: he has held positions such as Public Relations Manager, Contributing Editor and veteran Staff Writer for his award-winning and Pacemaker-nominated college newspaper, The Knight News, stationed in Queens, New York. Markos has published 160 articles to date, one of the most in the college's 73 year history. He has written articles for every possible section of the newspaper including News, Opinions, Business, Features, Entertainment, Theater, Music, Literature, Travel, Culture, Religion and Interviews.
In addition to his college newspaper, Markos works as a New York Correspondent, Contributing Editor, and Reporter for the Greek-American press, where his articles have been published in numerous newspapers, journals, and magazines, spanning seven states; furthermore, his photography has appeared in several local newspapers and online media.

Most of Markos Papadatos' articles specialize in spotlight profiles based on interviews (in person or via phone) conducted with various well-known celebrities and dignitaries. Over the past six years, Markos has had the good fortune of meeting and interviewing many world renown professors, dignitaries, politicians and celebrities which include Academy Award nominated/winning actors, Tony-nominated/winning actors, Emmy-nominated/winning actors, Grammy Award nominated and winning singers, Newbery Award winners, musicians, country vocalists, television personalities, authors, and many other significant individuals, including Grammy-award winning percussionist, Dame Evelyn Glennie, a Dame Commander of the British Empire (DBE).
For his college newspaper, The Knight News, Markos has interviewed country singers Chuck Wicks, Jake Owen, Joe Nichols, and Jo Dee Messina. Other well-known individuals he has interviewed include virtuoso violinist Robert McDuffie, jazz vocalist Jane Monheit, American Idol alum Elliott Yamin, veteran pop music singer Dionne Warwick, three-time Academy Award nominated actress Joan Allen, Broadway actress Rena Strober, and acclaimed tenor Michael Amante. In mixed martial arts, he has interviewed UFC full-contact fighter Pete "Drago" Sell.

Markos' Educational Background
In 2006, Markos earned his Bachelor of Arts cum laude degree in Political Science [with a concentration in Law & Politics], and minored in Anthropology, and the Business and Liberal Arts (BALA) Honors Program. Markos earned his Master's degree in elementary education (grades 1-6) in 2008, as well as a Post-Master's degree in a Literacy Specialty (grades B-6) in 2010. In addition to teaching, journalism is his biggest passion in life.
In his spare time, his hobbies include writing, e-mailing, and listening to country music.
